NJDOT Aeronautics

The Bureau of Aeronautics oversees a range of important aviation-related responsibilities. It issues both permanent and temporary licenses for various aviation facilities, including heliports and balloonports. The bureau conducts inspections of thirty-six public-use airports and also manages the NJDOT’s Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) program. In addition, it collaborates with the Public Use Airport Task Force and manages both Greenwood Lake and South Jersey Regional Airports.

The Bureau hosts an annual aviation contest to inspire youth to showcase their creativity and engage with aviation and aerospace themes through art.
 
Submissions are accepted from students ranging from 6-17 years old.
